People think that the best way to reduce crime is to give longer prison sentences. Others believe that there are other alternative solutions for reducing crime. Discuss both views and give your opinion on this topic.

In present day and age, offences are increasing alarmingly everywhere ,therefore offenders are getting punish to stop them doing so. A handful masses contemplate that there should be long-term imprisonment ; however, others advocate that many more possible methods are there to teach offenders a lesson. This essay will examine both the given notions and my personal perspective in the subsequent paragraphs.

On the one hand, there are supporters of long-lasting confinement who consider that once the illegal workers will be punished, they will never think of negative works. Moreover, they will realize their family's importance after spending some of their life in prison. Whereas,  captivity is a traditional way using which  basic motives and reasons of life are taught positively to wash their brain having negative thoughts.

On the other hand, there are others who stand against it. They believe that except imprisonment, more available options must be followed, they should be given tasks as a sweeper or to clean sewages for some time. Although, they should be punished as per the offense they done, so that their family or close ones  will not suffer.  Last, but not the least, personal crime re-offenders should be used for civil works or death penalty is justified. For instance, in small villages of Uttarakhand , criminals are given punishments to clean dry ponds, garbage from roads which is benefiting the villagers too.

To conclude that such practices are more beneficial than harmful. In my opinion, a line should be drawn to its wages so that maximum benefits are reaped at the cost of minimum losses.
