The main thing or concept in English which conveys the meaning any word or sentence is NOUN

Firstly, we need to judge what kind a noun must be either singular or plural.

There are those words which remains same, but, candidates get confused in exam in Listening especially.

 Now, lets have bit more clearance about this:

Those words ending with s, ch,sh and x  will have 'es' when they converted into plural.

Glass -into- Glasses 

Dish -into- Dishes

Watch -into- Watches

Box -into- Boxes

But, if the word is ending with 'Y' and while converting that word into plural will have 'ies' onthe place of 'Y'.

Family -into- Families

Fly -into- Flies

Sky -into- Skies

Dry -into- Dries

Many candidates write Fly into Family or Familys and lose overall band score.

Moreover, Noun ending with 'O' have 'es' to become a plural word.

Do -into- Does

Tomato -into- Tomatoes

Potato -into- Potatoes

Hero -into- Heroes

If a noun is ended with 'oo' then it will be written it as noun+s only, such as Bamboo -into- Bamboos

Noun ending with f/fe will changes into 'ves'

Thief -into- Thieves 

Shelf -into- Shelves

Leaf -into- Leaves

Wife -into- Wives

Here too, candidates do a lot many mistakes.


In IELTS most of the answers are nouns either it is in listening or in reading module.

Do Remember, Singular or Plural answers matter a lot, false noun will give 0 as an incorrect spelling.

The given line chart depicts information regarding the swapped figures of offences  taken place in New Port city center in a decade. In 2003, burglary cases noticed as the top most offence at 3500 approximately which then rose to  3700 in 2004. An instant decline in burglar cases  folded  to one-third (1200) and stayed almost same in next four years which counted at 1400 in 2012. However, the offences of robbery were 600 in the beginning of decade and its figures fluctuated slightly with similar number of cases till 2012. Whereas, 2700 cases registered for stolen cars in 2003 and remained same till 2005. A swift decline to the number of auto theft offences were 2100 in 2005. An unorder pattern seen in next couple of years , which stood at 2400 in the end of that decade. The given maps depict the changes that occurred in the town of Langley and how it was in the past years.  In 1910, on both sides of Jordan Street, there were few small houses. The same street towards the south was facing the railway lines just beside the cottages for railway employees as well as wasteland. Sherman Street was surrounded by houses and ended at the cafe opposing store and laundry buildings. In the north side, there was a factory on the right of another wasteland. Forty years later, most of the Sherman street area was replaced by a new park having particular playing area for children. The  Factory was diminished and new buildings were constructed named as Sherman Mansions. Laundry and Cafe relocated to the wasteland area near mansions. Some people think it is more important to plant more tree in open areas in towns and cities than provide more housing. To what extent do you agree or disagree.

Since the beginning, trees have furnished us with two of life’s essentials that are food and oxygen. I agree to point that plantation is necessary which enhances the quality of life, but, shelters must be given some priority as it is also our basic necessity.  Letting trees to own open areas for them is an intensive change today's environment needs. They are contributing our nature by improving air quality, preserving soil and supporting wildlife; moreover, human life directly depends on these things. Deforestation done from past years lead to bad weather conditions and its dramatic nature, due to which inhabitants again want a healthy life. A best peaceful life is only possible when we are surrounded by trees which also gives us positive vibes that can not be taken using artificial methods.
